International Women's Hackathon October 24th, 2015
A Big Congratulations to Hackathon Winners & Participants!
On Saturday October 24th young women took on the challenge of solving real-world problems through computer coding at the fourth semi-annual Women’s Hackathon at CSUSM. The event which is designed to encourage women to pursue computer science careers, brought together over 90 high school and college students from 25 schools in Southern California to design and develop websites, mobile applications, games and digital marketing strategies that focused on two social issues:
- From Care to College: How can we help youth in foster care know that they can go to college, get ready for college, understand there is money for them for college, get ready for the college application process, and be ready to succeed in college? Sponsored by ACE Scholar Program at CSUSM
- Safe Care for the Elderly: Providing safe care information to elderly by developing applications that deliver easy access to all elderly care facilities compliance data in California. Sponsored by the Consumer Advocates for RCFE Reform (CARR)
